What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Notepad Neo uses browser localStorage — not traditional HTTP cookies — to remember your preferences.
What We Store
nn_theme— your light/dark mode preferencenn_panel_visible— whether the format toolbar panel is shown or hiddennn_state— your note content and tab state (stored in localStorage and IndexedDB)
None of these values are sent to our servers. They exist only in your browser and are used only to restore your notes and preferences when you return.
Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site traffic. Google Analytics sets the following cookies:
_ga— distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 2 years._ga_*— stores session state for the GA4 property. Expires after 2 years.
These cookies do not contain your note content. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or your browser's privacy controls.
Advertising Cookies
If we display ads, the ad network (such as Google AdSense) may set its own cookies for ad personalization. You can opt out via your browser's privacy controls or your device's ad settings.
How to Clear Stored Data
You can clear all stored data by going to your browser's Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data. Note this will also permanently delete your saved notes.
